| Since we were in the area and since Joe and I have never been to New Orleans before we decided to go. This was Tammy's third trip to "the Big Easy". We were in New Orleans just two weeks before Hurricane Katrina hit. While in New Orleans we stayed at a fantastic hotel, Renaissance Pere Marquette Hotel. Although the valet parking was a bit expensive and the rooftop pool a bit small, the guest rooms have been recently remodeled with a gorgeous decor and the lobby is beautiful. We also found the concierge services to be very helpful. We also went on a tour of the Honey Island Swamp. Our guide threw marshmallows to attract alligators and even Amanda got a chance to throw a marshmallow! |
