Montana is refreshingly void of chaos, congestion and pollution. It is hard to not just stand around admiring the natural beauty all around while taking in fresh, crisp, clean air with each breath.
The last two pictures below are Devil's Slide, a geological feature in which shale forms the "slide". Different erosion rates in the types of rocks in this mountain create the brilliant effect.
The river that runs along Devil's Slide is where herds of elk, deer, antelope, bighorn sheep and bison move in search of food and shelter. |

| Preserving the Northern Yellowstone winter range for wildlife, the Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks, the USDA Forest Service and the National Park Service joined the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation to launch a landmark wildlife campaign that dramatically increased earlier protection efforts by the Montana Nature Conservancy. You can also help by supporting the following organizations in their continuing efforts to protect critical wildlife habitat. |

Paradise Valley is home to Chico Hot Springs. Chico Hot Springs is a Resort and Day Spa offering lodging, dining and activities. Although the evening Montana air temperature was a bit chilly for swimming in June, the 96° open-air mineral hot springs pool was very inviting. There is also a giant hot tub that was just too hot for me, but I don't typically like hot tubs anyway. Chico Hot Springs is located 25 miles south of Livingston, MT.
While this was not Amanda's first time in a swimming pool she was still apprehensive at first. Amanda has discovered that she really enjoys splashing others but gets quite upset if she is splashed. Amanda was very interested in the inner tube we found for her to use. |
